Video - China's Liu takes 200m fly gold China's Liu Zige smashed the world record on her way to winning Olympic gold in the women's 200m butterfly. Australia's Jessicah Schipper started the race as world record holder and went out incredibly fast in an attempt to break the Chinese challenge. But Liu, 19, stormed back to win in 2mins 4.18secs ahead of compatriot Jiao Liuyang, with Schipper taking bronze. "I didn't expect I could swim so fast," Liu said. "I never imagined I could win the gold in the Olympic Games." Schipper set a world record pace as she led early on but Liu managed to gain a slight edge by the final turn and held on. Jiao, lying third going into the final 50m, came through to claim the silver in 2:04.72, also under Schipper's previous world mark of 2:05.40. "The Chinese girls swam an awesome race," said Schipper.
