Video - World record earns gold for Kitajima Japan's Kosuke Kitajima smashed the world record as he stormed to Olympic gold in the men's 100m breaststroke. Kitajima's time of 58.91 beat nearest rival Norway's Alexander Dale Oen, who took silver, with Hugues Duboscq of France winning the bronze. The Japanese swimmer rallied from third position at the halfway mark to take his country's second gold of the Games. His time beat the previous record of 59.13 set by long-standing American rival Brendan Hansen, who was fourth.
