Two-time defending champions Hungary, who beat Serbia-Montenegro in the Athens final four years ago, could meet Montenegro again in the final, which takes place on 24 August.

Hungary coach Denes Kemeny admitted his side, who held a three-point lead in the third period, had been lapse in defence.

"We paid a high price for those mistakes," said Kemeny. "We made too many mistakes, but we are pleased with the outcome."

Montenegro coach Petar Porobic hailed the draw as a "great" result for his side, saying: "We played better in the end and were are happy with the result - it is hard to even draw with Hungary, especially after being down three goals."
