Pavoni is a double European Youth champion

2012 Olympic swimming hopeful Roberto Pavoni continued to show promise at the recent British Olympic Trials.

The 16-year-old from Brentwood beat all swimmers of his age and finished fifth in the open 200m and 400m individual medleys and seventh in the 200m fly.

He also recorded a new British record for his age group in the 200m medley.

Pavoni's performances ensured his place in the Great Britain team for the European Junior Championships that will be held in Belgrade later this summer.

The Essex swimmer is hotly tipped to be competing in the 2012 Games and is currently based at the British Swimming Offshore Centre in Australia.
