Australian Michael Scott has been appointed national performance director for Great Britain's swimmers. Scott, 51, has taken up the post after joining as high performance consultant in October 2007 following predecessor Bill Sweetenham's exit.
"This is a very exciting challenge for me," said Scott, who will guide the team in Beijing at the 2008 Olympics.
A former director of the Australian Institute of Sport, Scott will develop a strategy through to London 2012.

British Swimming chief executive David Sparkes said: "We're delighted Michael can stay through to the Olympic Games.
"We're all very excited about Michael's blueprint for the future, as it will see a significant change in gear, and this will be unveiled to the British Swimming board in a few weeks.
"We look forward to continuing to work with Michael in implementing these plans which will be announced in due course."
