Scott is going to his first Olympic Games in Beijing

Beijing-bound Steve Scott claimed double trap gold at the European Championships in Cyprus.

A qualification round of 143 took the Sussex shooter into the final in second place, behind Hakan Dahlby of Sweden.

An excellent final round of 48 pulled him level with his rival, and Scott went on to win the shoot-off.

He then combined with Tim Kneale and Stevan Walton to take the silver medal in the team event, five targets behind Russia, and one ahead of Germany.

Scott was recently selected by to compete at next month's Olympic Games along with Richard Faulds, Jon Hammond, Charlotte Kerwood and Elena Little.
