Video - Shaw claims windsurfing bronze Windsurfer Bryony Shaw broke down in tears after clinching a bronze medal for Great Britain on Wednesday. The Olympic debutant was third going into the RS:X medal race but was unable to improve as she took Britain's fifth sailing medal of the Games. Chinese sailor Yin Jian took gold ahead of Italy's Alessandra Sensini. "I'm so happy. It was such a hard race and a hard week," said Shaw, whose display gave Britain their first-ever medal in the women's windsurfing event. Shaw, 25, began the medal race in third place with 41 points, eight behind Yin and three adrift of Sensini. After a general recall, she got off to a good start second time around and led briefly before reaching the first mark in second place, 11 seconds behind Spain's Marina Alabau.  Cannot play media. Video - Shaw emtional after winning bronze Shaw remained in second place at the second mark and took the lead at the third, although a sluggish turn allowed the Italian to move ahead as the windsurfers approached the slalom finish. There was drama when Alabau and Shaw touched at one of the buoys, but it was the Spaniard who was penalised with a penalty turn for not giving the Briton the right of way. Sensini pulled away on the run to the finish line but Shaw hung on for second, 15 seconds back to claim bronze.
