Danes cruise to men's fours gold Denmark successfully defended their Olympic crown in lightweight fours, coasting home well clear of Poland. Canada took bronze, leaving Great Britain's world champions trailing in fifth place. Poland gained gold in the openweight men's quad sculls, though, finishing a length clear of Italy and France. Netherlands duo Kirsten van der Kolk and Marit van Eupen won gold in the women's lightweight double sculls after a close battle with Finland. Canada's Melanie Kok and Tracy Cameron snatched bronze from Germany in a photo finish on the line.
