Nailsworth's Peter Reed feels the GB coxless four can still medal in Beijing despite their poor performance in the Rowing World Cup in Lucerne on Sunday.

The crew failed to qualify for the final for the first time in a decade.

Reed told the BBC: "I think we did everything we could in preparation, but our performance wasn't good enough.

"We planned to go off hard and lead the race at all costs, but we only had so much in our legs. The others cut through us in the last 250m."

"That's tough to take," he added.
