Liverpool's new Aquatics Centre is set to be used by international athletes training for the 2012 Olympic Games. The new state-of-the-art facility, which will officially open on 15 March, has been included in the 2012 training camp guide for international teams. The centre will contain an Olympic size pool, which can be divided into two, and also a 20m training pool. In addition there is a unique movable floor which allows the depth of the water to be varied. The swimming development officer for Liverpool city council Colin Stripe said: "It is going to make a tremendous difference for future development and will allow us to take our young swimmers to the next level."
