Cairns won gold in Melbourne at the Commonwealth Games |
Portishead gymnast Imogen Cairns has been promoted into the Great Britain team for Beijing after Laura Jones pulled out with an injury. The 19-year-old was named as first reserve when the squad was announced earlier this week. She is most likely to feature in the vault and floor exercises, which are events she won gold and silver medals in at the Commonwealth Games. Cairns trains at the Academy of Gymnastics in Portishead.
