The British Olympic Association has named Claire Wright as Team GB's sole trampolinist for the Beijing Olympics. The 28-year-old has won seven consecutive national titles, and 44 world and European medals. Team GB's Simon Clegg, said: "I am delighted to welcome Claire to the team, especially as she has been close on two previous occasions." Wright added: "I am really looking forward to the amazing experience of competing at my first Olympics." British gymnastics performance director Matthew Greenwood praised the announcement. He said: "Claire has been a consistently high performer at the elite world level for a number of years and her place within the Olympic family is richly deserved. "Claire has had an extremely successful trampoline career, so it is fantastic that she can now make the final step up to compete as an Olympian." Trampolining was first included as an Olympic sport at the 2000 Games in Sydney.
