Devon teenager Tom Daley has been named in Britain's 10-strong diving squad for the Beijing Olympics.

Set to become GB's second youngest male Olympian, Daley will compete in the individual 10metre platform and the 10m synchronised with Blake Aldridge.

"I'm totally overwhelmed," said the 14-year-old Daley. "To know you're going to an Olympics after all the hard work and speculation is unbelievable.

"I'm going to go the Olympics and enjoy every minute of it."

The other members of the GB squad are Ben Swain, Nick Robinson-Baker, Hayley Sage, Tandi Gerrard, Stacie Powell, Tonia Couch, Pete Waterfield and Rebecca Gallantree.

The team was announced at the end of the Olympic trials in Leeds where Daley achieved his goal of breaking the 500-point barrier for his dives.

"That will come as I get older and that's where I want to be when London comes along in 2012.�

Mentored by the recently-retired Leon Taylor, Daley had already qualified in the individual event after taking bronze at the Fina diving World Cup in February.

Since taking up the sport at the age of seven, Daley has won many junior and senior titles, both as an individual and with synchro partner Aldridge.
