Wendy Houvenaghel is a medal hope for the Beijing Olympics |
County Londonderry woman Wendy Houvenaghel will compete in the individual pursuit for Great Britain at the Olympic Games in Beijing. The 33-year-old from Upperlands, who is now based in Cornwall, won gold in the team pursuit at the World Championships in Manchester in March. The team pursuit is not an Olympic event so Houvenaghel goes in the individual competition. She is a former world number one and a double world cup winner.
