Baseball player fails drugs test

Chang's positive test may stem from having taken a cold medication

Taiwan Olympic baseball player Chang Tai-shan has tested positive for a banned substance, the International Olympic Committee said on Wednesday.

Chang failed a World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) check which was taken outside the Olympic test period.

Taiwan lined up against the Netherlands on Wednesday without Chang.

However, Taiwan's baseball association has appealed to WADA to allow Chang to take another urine test, Taiwan's Central News Agency reported.
