Video - High jump joy for Belgium's Hellebaut Belgium's Tia Hellebaut stunned Croatian Vlasic Blanka to win gold in the high jump on Saturday. Hellebaut, the world indoor pentathlon champion, cleared 2.05m at her first attempt, while Blanka needed two efforts to make the height. It was a fantastic effort from the 30-year-old to edge past the world champion and clear favourite Vlasic. Russian Anna Chicherova won bronze with 2.03m and the Athens gold medallist Svletlana Slesarenko was fourth. Vlasic started the event in good form, with her first failure only coming at 2.05. With Hellebaut then clearing that height the first time, Vlasic handed the gold to the Belgian with three failures at 2.07. Hellebaut revealed she was spurred on by her country's silver medal in the women's 4x100m relay on Friday. "It was so long until we got a medal. Then we won a silver, and that really inspired me," the Belgian said. "I never expected to beat Blanka because for almost a year she has been unbeatable. But it was nice to be at your best at big championships. "I am always ready to go at big moments. I think there is a reason why I have so many gold medals at home."
