Stephanie Twell is thrilled to have been picked to run in the 1500m for Great Britain at the Beijing Olympics.
The 18-year-old from Aldershot was a late selection by UK Athletics for the games after running a lifetime best at the Golden League meeting in Paris.
Twell told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "The focus this year was on the World Juniors but to be going to the Olympics is like a dream. It's so rewarding."
"I just need to keep my feet on the ground and keep working hard."
Twell has the advantage of having raced at the Olympic venue before, in the 2006 World Junior Championships and says air quality is not a problem compared to the her experiences of holding camps in Macau and Osaka.
Twell added: "Coming into Beijing you feel like the air is thinner and it's so much cooler. Conditions are not something we should worry about. I'm going there to gain lots of experience."
