Simon Terry was GB's highest finisher, reaching the quarter-finals at the Olympic archery test event in Beijing. Terry, a double Olympic bronze winner as an 18-year-old at Barcelona in 1992, claimed eighth place overall after losing to Malaysia's Chu Sian Cheng. Team GB performance manager Barry Eley said: "Obviously it would've been nice to come back with a medal or two, but this was more of a learning experience. "Now we're all fired up and looking forward to coming back to Beijing." Eley added: "After a fantastic year for British archery at international level, where we've won medals in every major tournament we've been at, we are confident we will be very much in the hunt for Olympic success."
