World Class 2012 in partnership with the British Council bring you the stories of the schools where the dreams begin. Habib Public School is twinning with Stretford High School in Manchester and Holbrook Primary in Coventry
Hockey is Pakistan's national sport and the international team's achievements include four Hockey World Cup titles and two Olympic gold medals. In the most recent World Cup, however, the men's team came last and the poor performance prompted many of the team to resign. Pakistan is now working to rebuild its international hockey reputation and the race is on to produce a world class side for London 2012.
Pakistani hockey team's schools The under 18s coach, Khwaja Junaid, told us that the junior team already have some players who are good enough to play for the national team. "Many of the players come from poor rural areas and it is a difficult for some of them to be away from their families and to be part of a national team's training regime."
