Ivan Ukhov is a Russian high jumper who won gold at the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships. With an indoor personal best of 2.40, he's one of the world's top high jumpers. Ivan went to two schools in Yekaterinburg, a city in central Russia.
Ivan's schools School No 108, Yekaterinburg The school prides itself on producing outstanding athletes who display good sportsmanship. Ivan was one of the school's star basketball players and a popular and friendly pupil. School 108's sports stadium is used for gymnastics and football in summer and ice skating in winter. Pupils also go rock climbing in the nearby Ural mountains. The school's current stars include the drama group, aerobic gymnasts, basketball and rowing teams. Staff and pupils at School No 108 are proud of Ivan's achievements and are planning to produce a film about their sports stars in the run up to 2012 and host their own sport competitions. Olympic Reserve School Ivan transferred to the Olympic Reserve School in Yekaterinburg in 2000 to concentrate on athletics. We're trying to get in touch with the school and will bring you more information when it is available.
