Zhou wins short-track gold

Zhou Yang of China coasted to victory in the women's 1500m short-track speed skating at the Winter Olympics.

Zhou, 18, clocked two minutes 16.993 seconds, nearly two seconds ahead of South Korean Lee Eun-byul, whose compatriot Park Seung-hi won bronze.

The final was thrown wide open when Zhou's team-mate Wang Meng was disqualified in the semi-finals.

Olympic 500m champion Wang was disqualified after an apparent bump with American Katherine Reutter.

Zhou, the 18-year-old world record holder competing in her first Olympics, put her hands together in a thank you gesture as she crossed the finish line of the eight-woman final.
