Nader el Masri has won the first-ever Gaza marathon. He was among hundreds of athletes that ran the entire length of the tiny Palestinian territory equalling 26 miles or 42 kilometres.

Gemma Connell, a United Nations representative said the event was organised to help raise funds for summer games for the children in the region.
