Mascherucci was delighted with how his fighters performed against the Navy

The coach of Guernsey's judo squad for the 2009 Island Games is confident his side can perform well after a weekend of good performances in Jersey.

Guernsey fought in a tournament with the hosts and the Navy and produced some good wins over the services side.

"In the fights we showed that we were at that level and I was really surprised," said Roberto Mascherucci.

"We've been training really hard and it's started to pay off," he added on BBC Guernsey.
