Ten Tyrone men in All Stars frame

Tyrone's Joe McMahon

Tyrone have received 10 nominations for the Vodafone Football All Stars but Joe McMahon is a notable omission.

McMahon's brother Justin, Ryan McMenamin, Davy Harte, Conor Gormley and Philip Jordan have been nominated.

Enda McGinley, Brian Dooher, Sean Cavanagh, Tommy McGuigan and Colm McCullagh also make the nominations.

Ryan McCluskey, Martin McGrath and Tommy McElroy are nominated along with Francie Bellew, Ronan Clarke, Dessie Mone, Fergal Doherty and James Reilly.

Joe McMahon may have been a victim of his own versatility after missing out on a nomination in the half-forwards and the full-back line.

McMahon starred at half-forward in the game against Dublin and again operated in attack against Wexford.

Mickey Harte then took the decision to deploy McMahon in the full-back line in Sunday's All-Ireland decider.

McMahon's brother Justin will be a strong favourite to land the full-back jersey in the GAA's football team of the year and Tyrone can be expected to have seven or eight names in the line-up.

Fermanagh's three nominations looks a fair tally after their progress this season although there may be a gripe with Ronan Gallagher missing out on a goalkeeping nomination.

Derry's Fergal Doherty
Fergal Doherty is Derry's only All Star Football nomination

Cavan keeper Reilly earns a nomination after making a series of great saves in the Ulster SFC defeat by Armagh while the Orchard County's provincial title win means recognition for Bellew and Clarke.

Aaron Kernan and Ciaran McKeever can possibly consider themselves unlucky not to have received nominations.

Monaghan man Mone earns a deserved nomination after a fine season for the Farney County while Doherty is Derry's only nomination despite their National League title triumph.

Given Derry's hugely disappointing championship season, it's doubtful whether the Oak Leaf County can have too many complaints.

Beaten All-Ireland finalists Kerry have earned nine nominations - one less than Sam Maguire winners Tyrone.

The Kingdom men recognised are Marc O Se, Tomas O Se, Aidan O'Mahony, Dara O Se, Seamus Scanlon, Declan O'Sullivan, Kieran Donaghy, Tommy Walsh and Colm Cooper.

Dublin have three nominations -David Henry, Shane Ryan and Alan Brogan.

In all, there are 18 Ulster players in the 45 nominations.
