Padraig Mullarkey's goal in the final minute denied Tyrone an opening victory in the Allianz NFL Division One game at Healy Park on Saturday night. The Red Hands dominated the first half and led 0-5 to 0-3 at the break with the points coming from Colm McCullagh (3), Kevin Hughes and Colm Cavanagh.
Tyrone went further ahead in the second half but Kildare fought back and Mullarkey secured an unlikley draw.
Both sides wasted chances from frees to clinch a last-gasp victory.
KIldare's Martin Conway sent his effort wide before Owen Mulligan's effort dropped short.
Raymond Mulgrew and Tommy McGuigan were on target for the Red Hands in the second half.
