Peter McDonnell has taken over from Joe Kernan |
New Armagh supremo Peter McDonnell has pleaded with the county's big-name thirty-somethings not to make hasty decisions about retiring. His request comes after the news that former skipper Kieran McGeeney has opted to quit the inter-county game.
Now speculation surrounds the futures of senior stars like Diarmuid Marsden, Oisin McConville and Paul McGrane.
"I am asking all the players to wait and see what I have to offer," McDonnell told the Irish News.
"Then they can make an informed decision.
"There is an awful lot of idle gossip about what I am thinking or saying.
"I have not spoken to any of them yet. That will happen later on when the club championship comes to a close and the leagues are wrapped up.
"I would like to invite all the panel which finished the Derry match. Then I will lay my stall out."
