Former Derry midfielder Tohill will be on the selection panel |
Former Derry star Anthony Tohill has been named as one of four selectors for the Ireland International Rules team. The former Irish captain played eight times against Australia in the series between 1998 and 2001.
New Ireland manager Sean Boylan will also have Eoin Liston, Padraig Joyce and Hugh Kenny on his selection panel.
It has also been confirmed that Ireland will travel to Australia next year with the future of the series being reviewed after the trip.
The decision to hold a review follows a meeting between GAA officials and their counterparts from the Australian Football League in Dubai on Tuesday.
It is expected that switching the series from being an annual event to taking place every two years will be considered.
This year's games will be played at Galway's Pearse Stadium on 28 or 29 October and Croke Park on 4 or 5 November.
