Benny Coulter's form was crucial to Mayobridge's success |
Mayobridge retained their Down SFC title by beating Bryansford 0-13 to 0-7 in Sunday's final at Newcastle. Benny Coulter missed an early penalty but the holders had the best of the early exchanges, leading 0-4 to 0-1.
Bryansford bounced back to lead by a point but Robbie Coulter levelled at 0-5 each and Mayobridge went on to power on to a comfortable victory.
The Coulters were on form and their superior firepower proved crucial in a largely disappointing game.
Mickey Linden made his playing contribution too, coming on as a substitute in the second half.
