BBC NI wins sports awards

BBC Northern Ireland won two awards at the Royal Television Society's Sports awards in London on Monday night. The Championship GAA programme picked up the award for Regional Sports Actuality Programme while Big Six won the Regional Sports programme. Mike Edgar, head of programme production at BBC NI, pointed out that the programmes were the only winners from the BBC's Nations & Regions. "It is a superb achievement - a major well done to all involved," he said.
