Paul Finlay inspired Monaghan to victory over Armagh

Monaghan forward Paul Finlay has been chosen as the Vodafone GAA Footballer of the Month for May.

Finlay hit eight points to help Monaghan earn a shock win over All-Ireland Champions Armagh in the Ulster Championship preliminary round.

The 20-year-old made a stirring entrance to senior championship football after playing for the Monaghan minor team for three years.

Finlay helped Sligo IT win last year's Sigerson Cup.

Clare hurler Colin Lynch won the Vodafone Hurler of the Month award after playing a huge part in his county's surprise Munster Championship win over Tipperary.
