Glenn Ferguson's goal made it 2-0 for the Blues at Seaview |
Crusaders 0-5 Linfield
Five Linfield players got on the scoresheet as Crusaders' recent good run came to a shuddering halt at Seaview.
Alan Dornan's boys had hauled themselves off the bottom of the Premier Division with three league wins out of four.
But they were well beaten by a Linfield outfit who have lost just one game since Christmas.
However, the gloss was taken off Linfield's victory an injury to Darren Murphy.
The former Glenavon skipper was stretchered off after 18 minutes and was taken to hospital for an X-ray to his injured ankle.
It was initially feared Murphy might have sustained a fracture.
Pat Wall's second goal of the season gave Lifield the lead in the 31st minute, his shot being deflected off Davy Munster.
Crusaders' luck was definitely out as two mire deflected shots left them three down.
Glenn Ferguson (54 minutes) and Mark Picking (56) were the scorers.
David Larmour (61) pounced on a deensive mistake to make it 4-0 before a quality strike from Lee Feeney (62) completed the scoring.
