![]() | Saturday, 18 May, 2002, 16:20 GMT 17:20 UK Lougher grabs double ![]() Ian Duffus lead in the early stages of the 600cc race Welshman Ian Lougher grabbed his second victory when he pipped John McGuinness in the second 600cc race at the NW200 on Saturday. Lougher, who had earlier won the 125cc race for their third year running, nipped in ahead of John McGuinness who started on pole position. There was a tremendous battle in the early stages of the five-lap race with first Lougher, and then Scotland's Iain Duffus leading the way. McGuinness held sway on lap three from Duffus, before Lougher proved the master of the brakes at the Metropole to sneak home for his double. McGuinness was second while Duffus was also on the podium. Lougher recorded the fastest lap on the final circuit with a speed of 113.54. His average speed was 112.3 with McGuinness lapping at 112.1.
