Anstey's fairytale win
Bruce Anstey (no 64) from Wellington wins on his NW200 debut
Kiwi Bruce Anstey took the Production race honours
New Zealander Bruce Anstey created a little bit of history as he lifted the Production race honours at the North West 200 on Saturday.

It was a fairytale victory for Anstey as he pipped David Jefferies to the line after the two had fought quite a battle over the five laps.

Anstey was the first debutant rider to take pole position after a superb practice run on his arrival from Wellington on Tuesday.

However, it was Jefferies who who looked likely to collect his second win of the day when he lead after the first two laps.

However, Anstey on his borrowed 1000 Suzuki passed Jefferies on lap three and proceeded to creep away into the distance.

Jefferies came home second, while Moira's Gary Jess celebrated his 31st birthday by landing a very creditable third spot.

Result:
1 Bruce Anstey (1000 Suzuki) 111.595.
2 David Jefferies (1000 Suzuki) 110.339.
3 Gary Jess (1000 Yamaha) 110.532.
4 Richard Britton (1000 Suzuki) 110.851.
5 John McGuinness (900 Honda) 110.407.
6 Ryan Farquhar (900 Kawasaki) 109.915.
