![]() | Thursday, 18 April, 2002, 08:50 GMT 09:50 UK Cahill's All-Ireland target ![]() Cahill's claim will be greeted with scepticism by many Antrim hurling boss Dinny Cahill has claimed that the county can win an All-Ireland senior title within the next three years. The Tipperary man insisted that he had been "very impressed" with the standard of hurling in the county since his arrival last November. "Last weekend, I went to see an U21 game between Dunloy and Loughgiel. "It was as good a game of hurling that I have seen at underage level in my time," Cahill told the Irish News. Cahill's bold assertion that Antrim will be All-Ireland contenders in such a short time will be greeted with scepticism by many. However, the Saffron boss believes there is much hurling talent within the county. Cahill's squad are currently training five nights a week.
The Tipperary man feels the intensive training is helping to foster team spirit within the squad. Interclub rivalries have often appeared to affect the Antrim county side but Cahill believes the current squad is bonding very effectively. "The guys are mingling exceptionally well. They enjoy one another's company now," said Cahill. Antrim take on Kerry in the NHL Division Two semi-final at Newbridge on Sunday. Meanwhile, Kilkenny have made one change for Sunday's NHL semi-final against Limerick at the Gaelic Grounds. O'Connor available Andy Comerford returns at half-forward in place of Brian Dowling for what will be his first match for the county since the defeat by Galway in last year's All-Ireland semi-final. Comerford also takes the captaincy from his brother Martin. Limerick have left a vacancy at right corner-forward in the hope that Conor Fitzgerald passes a late fitness test. Fitzgerald will take over at from James Butler for his first competitive start if he passes the late test. Sean O�Connor, sent off on Sunday against Clare for two yellow card offences, will start the semi-final.
