Joey Dunlop holds a record number of TT victories
Road racing legend Joey Dunlop holds the record number of victories at the Isle of Man TT with a total of 26 wins.

The late Northern Ireland rider won his first TT in the 1977 Jubilee Classic race and his last in the 125cc race in 2000.

Next on the roll of honour is Mike Hailwood with 14 successes followed by Steve Hislop and Phillip McCallen, who each have 11.

Stanley Woods and Giacamo Agostini have both won 10 races on the famous Mountain Circuit.

Three riders, Dunlop, Hailwood and Hislop have won three races inside a week on at least one occasion but County Armagh rider McCallen holds the record with four wins within seven days.

David Jefferies is the fastest man to have lapped the circuit at an average speed of 125.69mph on lap six of the Senior TT in 2000.

He is followed by Scot Jim Moodie on 124.45mph and Michael Rutter on 123.95mph.

The races were first held in 1907 and the circuit length is 37.73 miles.

The race programme for 2002 reads -

Saturday June 1 - TT Formula One (6 laps); Sidecar Race a (3 laps)

Monday June 3 - Lightweight 400/Ultra Lightweight 125 TT (4 laps); Production 700-1010 (3 laps); TT Lap of Honour (1 lap).

Wednesday June 5 - Junior TT (4 laps); Sidecar Race B (3 laps).

Friday June 7 - Production 600 (3 laps); Senior TT (6 laps)

The North West 200 motorcycle races are held over an 8.9-mile circuit near the towns of Coleraine, Portstewart and Portrush.

Top of the winners list is Northern Ireland rider Robert Dunlop with 14 successes followed by his brother Joey with twelve.

Phillip McCallen has won 11 races, Tony Rutter nine and his son, Michael, seven.

McCallen also holds the record for the most number of winners in a day.

He won five races at the 1992 event.

600cc race - 1, Jim Moodie; 2, Ryan Farquhar; 3, Iain Duffus

125cc race - 1, Ian Lougher; 2, Chris Palmer; 3, Callum Ramsay.

Production Race - 1, Bruce Anstey; 2, David Jefferies; 3, Gary Jess

600cc Race 2 - 1, Ian Lougher; 2, John McGuinness; 2, Iain Duffus

Superbike Race Two - 1, Iain Duffus; 2, Adrian Archibald; 3, Richard Britton.
