Cliftonville player McCallan was unavailable for last week's C&G Trophy win over Wiltshire when Mollins took the captaincy. Molins' performance clearly impressed the Irish selectors as he has been named skipper for next week's C&G Trophy clash against a Hampshire County Board 11. McCallan said he was "disappointed" by the Irish selectors' decision but he has promised to give full support to London-based Molins. Under McCallan, Ireland lost all three of their Triple Crown matches in August. That came on top of a disappointing showing at the ICC Trophy in Canada. McCallan is added to the Ireland 11 which defeated Wiltshire for the Hampshire clash. Ireland are now on the lookout for a new national coach after former New Zealand star Ken Rutherford's decision to step down from the post. | See also: Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Other top Northern Ireland stories: Links to more Northern Ireland stories are at the foot of the page. | ||
