Eddie Jordan has been appointed chairman of Rally Ireland |
Jordan Grand Prix founder Eddie Jordan is to head up Ireland's first staging of a round of the World Rally Championship in November. He has been appointed chairman of Rally Ireland with former Irish rugby international Trevor Ringland taking the role of vice-chairman.
"We have lots of talent in motorsport, both as competitors and organisers.
"Being part of WRC will allow us to develop that talent for the future," said Jordan.
Former Lions winger Ringland is now a solicitor based in Belfast.
Other members of the Rally Ireland management board are co-founders Sean O'Connor and Ronan Morgan and chief executive officer Darren Marren.
The four-day will be staged from 15-18 November and will be based mainly in the north-west of Ireland.
