Loeb is aiming to win a fourth successive world title |
Sebastien Loeb and Dani Sordo each won three stages on the second day of the Monte Carlo Rally as the Citroen duo stayed top of the rankings. Sordo and Loeb won alternate stages five to eight, as Loeb ended the day with a lead of 25.2 seconds.
Ford's Marcus Gronholm is 50 seconds further back, with Chris Atkinson in fourth, over a minute behind the Finn.
Afterwards, world champion Loeb admitted the arm he broke at the end of last season had caused him discomfort.
The day's driving began in wet conditions and Loeb said that on tarmac, he knew this would favour his team-mate.
"We knew since Germany that he can be really fast on Tarmac. It could be a big battle," he said.
606 DEBATE: Who do you think will win?
"Dani started very fast and I wasn't in a good rhythm with the tyres in the wet.
"Everything is perfect at the moment though, we have a good gap with Dani now and we will try to keep it."
