Alister McRae is set to make a one-off return to the World Rally Championship. The former Mitsubishi and Hyundai driver will debut Toyota's Super 2000 car in the Wales Rally GB, the last race of the championship, in December.
McRae has been without a regular world rally drive since being ditched by Mitsubishi in 2002.
"It's great to back in the WRC, especially in something as exciting as a new car to Europe," said the 35-year-old Scot.
The British-based RED team recently secured the worldwide agent status for Toyota South Africa who have developed the Super 2000.
Super 2000 cars will run in class N4 of the WRC from 2007 with drivers scoring points for the Production World Rally Championship.
After losing his Mitsubishi drive in 2002, McRae entered the Production World Rally Championship in 2004 and was on the brink of winning the title but lost out after a mechanical failure in the final event.
This year, McRae has been competing in the Chinese Rally Championship.
