Sebastien Loeb is on course to defend his World Rally title |
Wales Rally GB organisers are hoping for bigger crowds this year now the event has reverted to being the finale of the World Rally Championship. The Cardiff-based rally has suffered reduced crowds and media interest since being moved from its traditional December slot for the past two years.
Andrew Coe of organisers International Motor Sports said there is now "increased potential" for the event.
He said: "It's expected to attract more professional and amateur rally teams."
Defending champion Sebastien Loeb leads the championship after six of the 15 rounds.
The next stage takes place in Sardinia, Italy.
Last year's Wales Rally GB was overshadowed by the death of Michael Park, co-driver for Markko Martin.
