Citroen driver Sebastien Loeb can take another big step towards winning his first World Rally title with victory in this weekend's Rally of Argentina. Loeb, overall runner-up in 2003, is nine points clear of champion Petter Solberg midway through the season.
And the Frenchman says his run of form, which has seen two wins and a second in the past three races, can continue.
"With some adjustments to its set-up, the Xsara I drove in Turkey should be competitive in Argentina," he said.
Marcus Gronholm was victorious in Argentina last year but has not won a race since and is now 21 points adrift of Loeb.
The 2004 race, based around the town of Villa Carlos Paz in the Cordoba province, takes place two months later than last year and overnight temperatures are expected to dip below freezing.
There are two special stages on Thursday evening but the rally proper begins on Friday with 12 stages totalling 162.24km.
It concludes on Sunday with five stages over 84.96km.
