After a slow start to the Elite League season, Peterborough Panthers team manager Trevor Swales has told his riders they need to improve. Despite heavy pre-season investment by owner Rick Frost, the Panthers have struggled to find their form. Swales told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "They've got to start putting in the performance. Rick's put a lot of effort into the team this year. "The boys have got to turn it around and give the fans what they want." A 50-43 defeat at Ipswich on Monday left Peterborough fourth in the table, 13 points behind leaders Poole but with three meetings in hand. Kenneth Bjerre top-scored with 14 points but Lewis Bridger's five points and Troy Batchelor's four were not enough for a winning score. It is a result that left many in the Peterborough side deflated and Swales admits Frost is far from happy with the situation. "He's absolutely gutted," he said. "He wants to make Peterborough the best club in the country and one of the best in the world. "Unfortunately we're not going to do that unless we start winning meetings." Meanwhile Krzsztof Buczkowski will miss Thursday's trip to Swindon. He is still recovering from a broken metatarsal but has told the Panthers he expects to be fit for Monday's clash at Belle Vue.
