Some of Britain's best young speedway riders will compete in the Midland Open in Wolverhampton on Monday evening. The meeting is held in tribute to Gary Peterson, who died while riding for Wolverhampton in 1975. Peterson's mentor and three-times world champion Ole Olsen will be in attendance at Monmore Green. Wolverhampton Wolves stars Tai Woffinden and Nicolai Klindt will be among the favourites along with Lewis Bridger and King's Lynn's Darcy Ward. Wolves promoter Chris Van Straaten said: "This promises to be an exciting meeting with the youngsters all keen to put one over on each other. "We should see some exciting racing."
