Jason Bunyan starred on his first appearance for Stoke Potters

Stoke Potters started the new speedway season in fine style with a 54-41 victory in a challenge match against Birmingham at Loomer Road.

Debutants Phil Morris and Jason Bunyan excelled on their first rides for Stoke, both taking 11 points.

"It was pleasing to see all of our riders getting a race win under their belts," said promoter Dave Tattum.

Their first competitive fixture of the season is at Scunthorpe in the Premier Trophy on Friday 27 March.

"We're all fully aware one result does not make a season but we're happy with the promising start that we've made and we're looking to build on this result," added Tattum.
