Ben Barker will not return to ride for Stoke Potters in speedway's Premier League in 2009.

Barker has been ruled out of the Potters' plans as he is not allowed to ride in both the Elite League and the Premier League.

He will instead line up for Elite League side Coventry Bees.

"I feel I have let the Stoke public down, I tried everything to get the decision overturned but it was not to be. I'm devastated," said Barker.
