Joel Parsons is back for a third successive year

Sheffield Tigers have announced their first signing of the off season after agreeing terms with Joel Parsons.

The 23-year-old Australian has enjoyed some success in his first two years at Owlerton, after joining from Hull.

But Tigers promoter Neil Machin told BBC Radio Sheffield he wants more from Parsons in the forthcoming campaign.

"Joel's average is good value but we know he is capable of improving. There were flashes of brilliance last season which show what he is capable of."
