Wolves duo face GP fitness fight

Freddie Lindgren
Lindgren injured his wrist in the defeat to Bell Vue

Wolverhampton riders Niels-Kristian Iversen and Freddie Lindgren are facing a race to be fit for the Latvian Grand Prix meeting on Saturday.

Both men crashed out of Wolves' 60-30 Elite League defeat to Belle Vue on Wednesday night.

Iversen suffered a dislocated shoulder for the second time this season, but it was put back in place at the track.

Lindgren crashed during Heat 15 at Kirkmanshulme Lane and is complaining of pain in his hand and wrist.

Wolves owner Chris Van Straaten said: "Niels is trying to get back to Denmark on Thursday to consult his local specialist before making a decision about the weekend. He had superb medical treatment at the track."

"Freddie feels battered and bruised but he was talking about travelling to Latvia. Naturally there has to be some concern there," Van Straaten added.
