The Hammers were missing three of their regular riders |
Lakeside Hammers suffered a setback in their push for a top-two place in the Elite League, by losing at home to the Swindon Robins on Friday. The Hammers lost 41-49 as the visitors won 13 heats due largely to the riding of Leigh Adams and Jurica Pavlic. Croatian sensation Pavlic's performance was particularly notable, as he rode to victory in all seven of his races. Joonas Davidsson top scored for the Hammers, who remain in second spot, but are now tied on points with the Robins. Even the return of lead rider Andreas Jonsson, after he flew in from Sweden despite expecting the birth of his first child, could not save the Hammers from defeat.
