Speedway celebrates its 80th anniversary at Monmore Green in a star-studded event at Wolverhampton on Monday (1930 BST).

Ex-World Champions and Wolves' stars Sam Ermolenko and Ole Olsen will attend along with Ronny Correy, Graham Jones, Wayne Carter and Jan Staechmann.

"I'm looking forward to riding at Wolverhampton again," said Ermolenko.

"Of all the British clubs I raced for, Wolverhampton was always home." he added ahead of his return to Monmore.

Wolves have had a difficult season in the Elite League and are currently bottom of the table and the club's promoter Chris Van Straaten says he is looking forward to focussing on something else for a short while.

"It's an evening of celebration and we can forget about our troubles for one night. The atmosphere has been quite depressing but it will be very different on Monday."

"This is a great opportunity to meet up with some old faces and true legends of this great club," he said.
