Mildenhall are yet to register their first League win this season |
Mildenhall Fen Tigers have revealed their skipper Kaj Laukkanen has been riding with a shoulder injury for much of the season. Scans in his native Finland have revealed ligament and tendon damage which may need surgery in the future, although he hopes to continue riding. Fen Tigers manager Lawrence Rogers said: "The injury has been painful but he's manfully got on with his job." Laukkanen hopes to be in the Fen Tigers line-up to face Newcastle on Saturday. Mildenhall have not yet won a Premier League encounter this season which promoter Simon Barton believes is partly due to a host of injury problems, although his main seven riders should be available this weekend. He said: "I am looking forward to seeing our full team on track and I can only hope that we have no more injuries this season. "Newcastle are another strong side and include last year's Tigers skipper Jason King in their line-up. I know he will want to do well against us."
